Dr. Kara Catrelle, PhD, LCSW, CST
Dr. Kara Catrelle is a psychotherapist, Jungian analyst, clinical sexologist, educator, author, and speaker with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate relationships, sexuality, trauma, identity, and personal transformation. She maintains private practices in Asheville, North Carolina, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and provides psychotherapy, consultation, and education both in person and online.
Her work bridges depth psychology, neuroscience, contemplative traditions, and emerging technology. Dr. Catrelle’s doctoral research explored the rapidly evolving relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, culminating in the development of original clinical frameworks that help therapists thoughtfully assess and integrate AI companionship into mental health practice.
Drawing from Jungian psychology, attachment theory, sex therapy, mindfulness, and symbolic traditions—including Vedic astrology and Tarot as tools for psychological reflection—she helps clients understand unconscious patterns, strengthen relationships, and cultivate lives that are both meaningful and authentic.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Catrelle is the founder of Still Waters Sangha, a nonprofit Buddhist community dedicated to mindfulness, compassion, and psychological well-being. She is passionate about making complex psychological concepts accessible through teaching, writing, and public speaking.
Whether working with clients, training clinicians, or presenting to audiences, Dr. Catrelle is known for blending intellectual rigor with warmth, curiosity, and a deeply human approach to healing.
