I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Wisconsin and North Carolina.

Yes. I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can briefly discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine whether we’re a good fit before scheduling a full appointment.

I may accept insurance for individual psychotherapy services when appropriate.

Couples therapy is private pay only. This allows us to focus on the health of the relationship rather than the limitations imposed by insurance companies, including diagnostic requirements, treatment restrictions, and reduced privacy.

Jungian psychotherapy is a form of Depth Psychology that explores not only symptoms but also the deeper meaning behind emotional struggles, recurring relationship patterns, chronic pain, dreams, nightmares, toxic relational patterns, creativity, purpose, and personal transformation. Together, we work toward lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms.

Sex therapy is talk therapy that helps individuals and couples address concerns involving intimacy, desire, communication, sexual functioning, identity, and relationship satisfaction. Sessions do not involve physical contact or sexual activity of any kind.

No. Individuals often seek relationship therapy on their own to better understand dating patterns, attachment styles, communication, boundaries, and past relationship experiences. However, clients would book individual therapy with Dr. Catrelle to discuss their relationship concerns. If you would like to attend therapy as a couple, please book a Couples Therapy session.

Yes. My practice is affirming, inclusive, and welcoming to people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, relationship structures, and backgrounds.

Yes. I welcome individuals, couples, and relationship systems practicing or exploring ethical non-monogamy (ENM), consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, open relationships, and kink/BDSM. My role is to provide a respectful, nonjudgmental space where you can explore communication, boundaries, attachment, intimacy, sexuality, identity, jealousy, consent, and relationship dynamics.

With more than 25 years of clinical experience, I integrate evidence-based psychotherapy with depth psychology, attachment theory, mindfulness, and a holistic understanding of human development. My work emphasizes insight, compassion, practical tools, and meaningful long-term growth.

As one of the emerging specialists in AI companionship and human-AI relationships, I help clients explore how emotionally intelligent AI, chatbots, and digital companions may be influencing attachment, intimacy, relationships, loneliness, and mental health. Sessions focus on thoughtful, ethical, and psychologically informed exploration rather than judgment.

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll discuss your concerns, your personal history, your goals, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. Together we’ll develop a plan that fits your needs.

Most psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes.

This depends on your goals. Many clients begin with weekly sessions and adjust the frequency as they make progress. Together we’ll determine a schedule that best supports your needs.

Yes. Therapy is confidential except in specific situations required by law, such as concerns involving immediate safety, abuse reporting requirements, or court orders. Confidentiality will be discussed in detail during your intake process.

Finding the right therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of successful therapy. The complimentary consultation allows us to discuss your goals and determine whether my approach feels like a good fit for you.

Please contact my assistant, Christie, at kara@karacatrelle.com to learn about current availability. We do our best to respond promptly and will let you know whether we have openings or can provide appropriate referrals if needed.
